This story has been updated to say free meals will be provided through the end of the 2020-21 school year.

The United States Department of Agriculture has extended a nationwide waiver to allow the Quakertown Community School District to provide FREE meals to ALL students regardless of need through the end of the 2020-21 school year, or until available federal funding runs out. No qualification or identification is needed.

In QCSD, all students are eligible to receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch beginning Wednesday, September 23.

Here’s more information about breakfast and lunch in QCSD:

Breakfast will be served in all school cafeterias starting 20 minutes before the first class. Social distancing will be in place in each location.

All Lunches will be cold service, with three selections daily: A sandwich or wrap, a salad with a protein and roll, or a Grape/Peanut Butter Uncrustable. An assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables along with milk will be available daily.

For Virtual Learners, bagged breakfasts and lunches will be available for pick-up Monday through Friday at Quakertown Community High School from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The food distribution location is the High School bus loop. On Wednesdays, this service is available to all Quakertown students.

The High School will have three Grab N Go locations where lunches will be available for students. The locations will be the Senior and Junior locker pods as well as the cafeteria. Service will be available starting at 12:45 p.m. For Upper Bucks County Technical School students, lunches will be available for pick-up in the cafeteria at 10:30 a.m.

Strayer Middle School will have three Grab N Go locations in place in the cafeteria for students to get their lunch before leaving for the day. Dismissal times will be staggered to help alleviate lines.

At the Sixth Grade Center, student lunches will be ordered in the morning, assembled by the cafeteria staff, and then delivered by aides to classrooms and distributed before dismissal.

All Elementary school students will have lunch in their classrooms. Students will need to order their lunches in homeroom. Lunches will be assembled by the cafeteria staff, with aides delivering to rooms at the scheduled lunch periods.
