Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

By: Maggie Wilson, QCHS Senior

Tickets are available at the door for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child—High School Edition!

The play will be held in the high school auditorium November 21 at 7:30 p.m, November 22 at 7:30 p.m., and November 23 at 2:30 p.m. Based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany and adapted for high schools by Broadway Licensing Global.

The director, Tyler Kitchenman, shared that “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child carries the weight of all the pain and emotion the fans have felt and witnessed over the years in the books and films alike. It is a diverse, exciting, and inventive show that will entertain new fans and remind original lovers of the Wizarding World just how special these stories are.”

The first licenses were provided to only 29 schools in 2024, and now, Quakertown Community High School will be one of the first schools to have been approved for a license to perform the show. This is a big deal for our Panthers, and we can’t wait to see you there!

The actors have been working tirelessly, day and night, to put on this show, and there is no doubt that it has paid off. Director Tyler Kitchenman is a Potterhead himself and expresses his excitement for the production: “As a lifelong lover of literature and, more specifically, the Harry Potter stories, I cannot adequately express the joy I feel stepping out on that stage each and every rehearsal, hearing those lines, seeing those costumes, each time coming to grips with the fact that I am directing a Harry Potter show.”
