Quakertown Elementary & Sixth Grade Center | Arrival/Dismissal Procedures 2026 - 2027

Arrival Procedures

General Reminders:

  • Doors open at 8:45AM.

  • There is no adult supervision prior to 8:45AM.  Please do not leave students unattended prior to 8:45AM. 

  • From 8:45-9:05, students will enter assigned doors and report to their Homerooms (QE)/First Period (6GC).  Students may stop by their locker if they have one and they may go to the cafeteria to get breakfast if they choose.  

  • There are four (4) entrances for student arrivals: 

    • Bus Entrance (Bus Riders and Walkers)

    • Cafe Entrance (Car Riders, K-1st/Siblings)

    • Mod Entrance (Car Riders, 2nd - 6th)

    • Front Entrance (Walkers)

  • Visitors will park and enter the Front Entrance.

  • QE students will eat breakfast in their homerooms.

  • 6GC students will eat breakfast in the cafe and/or First Period. 

  • Students will be marked LATE/TARDY if they arrive after 9:05AM. (Note: Bus transportation delays will be reviewed before making a student tardy).

  • The Pledge of Allegiance will begin at 9:05 over the PA for both QE and 6GC. 

  • Building Specific announcements will occur in classrooms following the Pledge. 

  • Morning Meeting/Caring School Community lessons will begin following building specific announcements.

Walkers
(Please note: A student can ONLY be a walker if designated as such by Levy Bus.)

  • Students coming from the 8th Street/Park Ave side of the community will enter school through the bus doors.

  • Students coming from the Main Street side of the community will enter school through the front door.

Bus Riders

  • Students will exit their bus and enter school through the rear bus doors of the school. These are the doors by the gymnasium. 

  • The back lot is for bus drop off ONLY - no drop-off for car riders in the back.

Car Riders (KDG/1st and older siblings) 

  • Remember to please DRIVE SLOWLY!

  • Doors open at 8:45AM, so students must stay in the car under the supervision of the driver until our school opens at 8:45AM. 
    Students WILL NOT be supervised prior to 8:45AM. 

  • Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students (and older siblings who are also in the same car) will enter the drop off loop from S. Main Street and turn right into the parking lot.  They will follow the path and drop their child(ren) off at the cafeteria doors.  There will be a staff member present to greet and supervise their entrance.  

  • Adults will stay in their vehicles.

  • Parents will follow the path with the support of our staff members to exit the parking lot. 

  • Note: If parents need to exit their vehicle instead of drop and go, then they will need to find a parking spot in the lot.

Car Riders (Grades 2nd-6th) 

  • Remember to please DRIVE SLOWLY!

  • Doors open at 8:45AM, so students must stay in the car under the supervision of the driver until our school opens at 8:45AM.  Students WILL NOT be supervised prior to 8:45AM. 

  • Drivers will enter the drop-off loop from S. Main Street and turn into the parking lot. They will follow the loop and drop their child(ren) off at the modular doors. There will be a staff member present to greet and supervise their entrance.  

  • Adults will stay in their vehicles. 

  • Parents will follow the path with the support of our staff members to exit the parking lot. 

  • Note: If parents need to exit their vehicle instead of drop and go, then they will need to find a parking spot in the lot. 




Dismissal Procedures

Parents will complete the QE Dismissal Form (for walkers/car riders)

Bus Riders

  • QE bus riders will be dismissed at 3:47PM and report to the GYM for attendance. 

  • 6GC students will be dismissed at 3:50PM.

    • 6th grade first wave bus riders will report directly outside to their bus. 

    • 6th grade second wave buses will report directly to the GYM and sit in their assigned locations by bus numbers.

  • QE and 6GC staff will supervise.

Walkers

  • 6GC walkers and QE walkers will exit the building and begin walking home using the sidewalks and crosswalks.  Students on the Main Street side would exit the front entrance/exit and those on the 8th Street/Park Ave Street side would exit the bus entrance/exit. QE Parents can meet walkers at either the front doors or the bus doors. QE staff will supervise. 

QE Car Riders

  • Adults picking up QE students will wait in line and pick-up in the pick-up loop, which will open at 3:15PM.  Once drivers enter the pick-up loop, they MUST stay in their car during the dismissal process and follow directions from staff.

  • Drivers for QE students will show their QE Panther Sign with your child’s name. This will assist our staff to efficiently move through the dismissal process. 

  • QE staff members will use a radio system to communicate to the car riders waiting inside that their car is here. Students will exit the building via the mod doors. 

  • Students will enter their car on the passenger side via the sidewalk. This is for safety and accountability purposes.

  • Double parking is NOT ALLOWED and students may NOT cross in front of cars.

Note: QE Panther Signs will be available to parents at the 8/25 K-5 Orientation and/or given to students on the first day of school for those who could not attend the orientation. 

6GC Car Riders

  • Adults picking up 6GC students will wait in the line on 9th Street (non-residential side of the street). 

  • 6GC students will exit the building/mods and find their car.  Students MAY NOT cross 9th Street to enter their cars.  They will enter cars along the curb on the non-residential side of 9th Street. 

  • 6GC staff will supervise the loading area and cones will be used to support the process. 


Please be patient, drive slowly, and wait in the pick-up line to safely pick-up your child(ren).
